Patrick McCarty

Patrick has worked for Colorado State University Extension as Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent for 10 years for Garfield, Eagle and Summit Counties. Patrick is a 3rd generation Colorado native who has been involved with Extension programs since age nine as a 4-H member. Pat credits 4-H Wildlife and Conservation projects for helping cultivate his interests in areas that have continued life-long. Pat is an alumnus of CSU and has farmed and ranched for 15 years.

He also spent a number of years with the Owl Mountain Partnership in Walden, working with ranchers, private landowners and numerous agencies in implementing land management and improvement practices. Pat has also learned a lot about the oil and gas industry, as private landowner client demands in Garfield County have continued to desire good sound unbiased information in this subject area.

Many years experience with the private sector give him a great practical foundation in communicating with the diverse and interesting Extension clientele in his three county territory.
