Meeker Town Ditch Pipeline In response to a request from White River Conservation District in Rio Blanco County, Colorado Big Country delivered a research report to the District in March 2010. The Meeker Town ditch extends 14,200 feet from the head-gate on the White River, to the east, to the western edge of Town. The report covered: • Issues and concerns caused by the open ditch relating to seepage damage to adjacent private property and town roadways running over the ditch as well as public safety • Engineering data and cost estimates for converting the open ditch to a covered pipeline • Potential sources of funds for the conversion project Photos of some portions of the ditch are shown below. Note that the ditch runs close to private residences and, in some cases, through the middle of properties. Also Town roadways passing over the ditch are frequently in need of repair.
